This is how we would like the articles on PokéLand to look. Please read these instructions carefully before making any edits.

Basic Formatting

See also: Help:Format

All articles on PokéLand should be factual, have elements of good grammar and punctuation, and have some form of basic wiki formatting. Some example are as follows:

  • Basic Formatting: Names of games should be italisised, this can be done by using two apostrophies on either side of the word, like so: italisised. Words can also be bolded. Names of subjects (articles) should be bolded. This is also used for strongly emphasising words or sentences. Words can be bolded by putting three apostophies on either side of the word: bolded. If, for example, a game is the subject of an article (eg. Pokémon series), then it can be very strongly emphasised by usiing five apostrophies: very strongly emphasised. Note that four apostrophies will result in this: 'Pikachu'.
  • Headings: New headings should be written like so: == Heading ==. Sub headings can be created by adding more equals signs (=) on either side.
  • Linking: To link to an article, use two sqaure brackets on either side of the page name, like so: Bulbasaur. This will result in Bulbasaur. Alternatively, you could use different text to diplay if it fits better, eg. the Kanto Grass-type starter would result in the Kanto Grass-type starter (note how it links to the Bulbasaur page.
    • External Links: For references, use http://www.example.com/. This will result in http://www.example.com/ . To use alternate text, type an example website. This will result in an example website.
  • Other important stuff: The é in Pokémon has he little thingy on top. This is called an e-acute. Remember to add this character to pages where there are word such as Pokémon, PokéLand or Pokédex. You can copy this character from "pokémon" in the sidebar and paste it in the article.

Article Layout

Now that you know the basics of wiki formatting, its time to get editing! We would like all Pokémon pages to have the same layout and content, so it is well organised, neat and easy to read. This is what we want in an article (we've used Pachirisu as an example):

  • An infobox should be at the top of the page. Put the infobox in by typing:

  • A quote can be placed under the infobox. Put a quote in by typing:
Kyukyuuh!
  • A small introduction should say:
Pachirisu is a Electric-Type Pokémon-type Pokémon that appears in the Sinnoh Region.
  • Physical Appearance subsection: This should describe what the Pokémon looks like, what its alternate colouration is and any gender differences.
  • Game Locations subsection: Where abouts this Pokémon can be found in each game that it has appeared in.
  • Evolution and Breeding subsection: The Pokémon's evolution line, results of breeding and egg groups.
  • Trivia: Any interesting facts abput this Pokémon, and perhaps its name origin.
